At least 14 rebel fighters were killed by the Syrian Army after launching an attack on areas in eastern Damascus, Friday.
Local reports claimed the opposition forces snuck through a tunnel from the Jobar neighbourhood towards the government held districts of Zablatani and al-Hal Souk. Their advance was met and halted by Syrian Army artillery fire in a confrontation that went on for a few hours.
Jobar is a key rebel stronghold in the eastern countryside of Damascus. Relative calm has returned to the east Damascus districts following the violent outbreak.
